After surviving cancer, owner Monika Thompson helped her body and her heart to heal through baking. She quickly became comfortable with "alternative baking" techniques during her recovery, adding to solid skills built growing up in a scratch cooking home. Monika built Scratch House Kitchen knowing many families in our area do not have access to scratch made baked goods, particularly those considerate of dietary choices or restrictions. She particularly enjoys crafting items with organic, local, and whole foods ingredients. Outside of baking, Monika continues to work as a board certified neonatal nurse practitioner while also mother to twin boys.
We offer a wide range of scratch made baked goods to meet your needs. Most items are plant based/vegan and many are gluten free. Since everything is custom made to order, specialty items focusing on a Paleo lifestyle, supporting low sugar needs, or being nut free are also available. Whatever your needs, we can craft something yummy. We support local farms and other small businesses, while nourishing the community.
While we very much enjoy baking for you and the community, we are only able to take orders for custom baked goodies on a case by case basis. With young boys to raise and a homestead to manage, our time is needed elsewhere. You may email us anytime to inquire about ordering.
